DOHA (Qatar) - Revenge is a dish best served cold as they say, and that's exactly what Kuwait Club did by dealing Al Arabi SC a harsh 93-58 beatdown in the 2025-26 FIBA WASL-Gulf League on Monday night.
The two-time Sub-Zone league winners roared to a 23-9 start before blowing the game out in the next frame toward earning a measure of payback against the team that spoiled their season debut two months ago.
They bowed to an 83-78 decision in their previous encounter last October 21 and the wait couldn't be any sweeter as they returned the favor by beating their Qatari foes on their very own home floor at the Lusail Arena.
But more importantly, Kuwait Club maintained their hold of the Group B lead following the rout as they improved to 3-1 after tallying their third win in a row - a streak which began after that very loss against the Red Devils.
"Our defense today was very important because this was our first game away in WASL," said Coach Dusan Stokjov, who was satisfied to see his wards refuse to play lax against a team that missed Elmedin Kikanovic.
Five players scored in double figures in the rout, with Joffrey Lauvergne showing the way with 16 points and 14 rebounds for an efficiency of 27 as he took advantage of the mismatches especially inside.
Moh Hasan delivered 15 points, 11 of which he made in the opening period alone to power their early onslaught that set the tone for the lopsided win as he showed how much of a difference he could be time and again.
The sweet-shooting wing saw limited action and went scoreless in their first meeting against Al Arabi.
Charlie Moore came through with his own double-double of 13 points and 10 assists, while the tandem of Alex Alghais and Jamal Jones chipped in 11 points apiece for Kuwait Club, who shot 50.7-percent from the field.
Al Arabi, on the other hand, were led by Abdelrahman Abdelhaleem with 14 points. Sindou Diallo was his lone backup with 13 points in the loss, which prolonged their losing skid to three and thus fell to 1-3.
