BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office - Asia on Monday, March 2 announced the deferment of the FIBA West Asia Super League schedules in both the WASL-Gulf League as well as the WASL- West Asia League due to the situation in the region.
In WASL-West Asia League the last Group Phase game between Sagesse BC of Lebanon and Shahrdari Gorgan of Iran was scheduled to be played in Zouk Mikayel on Thursday, March 5 2026.
In WASL-Gulf league, the Semi-Finals series of the WASL-Gulf League were scheduled to tip off with Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad scheduled to host Kuwait Club in Jeddah on Monday, March 9 2026 followed by fellow Saudis Al Ula hosting Qatar's Al Arabi in Medina a day later.
The next games in the two best-of-three Semi-Finals series were scheduled for the subsequent Mondays and Tuesdays.
The FIBA Regional Office-Asia is closely monitoring the situation in the region in close coordination with the participating clubs and the National Federations concerned to ensure the necessary measures with respect to the safety and security of teams, officials and staff involved in FIBA WASL.
A revised schedule will be announced in due course of time.
