ALYTUS/VILNIUS (Lithuania) - The Semi-Finals of the 2025 FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket, Division B are set as Croatia, Germany, Lithuania and Sweden, all won their Quarter-Final matchups.
The quartet are now all one win away from earning promotion, with the top three teams at the event climbing to Division A for the 2026 edition.
A monster game from 15 year old Gabija Galvanauskaite handed hosts Lithuania a hard-fought 63-54 Quarter-Final win over Great Britain in a bruising encounter that could have gone either way. In a game where the biggest lead in the game for either team was nine points, it came down to who could execute at the crucial time and hold their nerve.
In front of a raucous home crowd in Alytus, Lithuania, did just that. The Brits got into team foul trouble late on and the hosts created separation between them and their counterparts with Galvanauskaite going for 21 points, 18 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks in a commanding showing. Athena Thompson led Great Britain with 20.
Joining Lithuania are Croatia, who overcame a stubborn Iceland side 81-78 to book their Semi-Final ticket in a thrilling bout. Up 50-36 with four minutes played in the third, Croatia were cruising, but Iceland clawed their way back and even took a 67-66 lead with 6:29 to play.
Croatia, though, moved up a gear and despite Iceland's best efforts, the Croatians kept them at bay. A three from Ana Pavic in the final seconds melted Iceland's hopes.
Pavic would end with 16 points, but it was Lea Vikic who stole the headlines. She posted 23 points and 13 rebounds in the win; Johanna Agustsdottir led Iceland with 14.
Germany stamped their authority in the fourth quarter to beat the Netherlands 58-41, and secure a spot in the Semi-Finals. After edging ahead after the third quarter, Germany staked their claim in the final period. The Dutch only mustered eight points as the Germans' lead peaked at 19, sealing the win.
Greta Gomann and Rosalie Esser both had 12 points for the winners. Irene Wassink led the Netherlands with 10.
Sweden advanced to the Semi-Finals with a narrow 73-70 win against Estonia. In another closely-matched battle, the Swedes had the edge in another game where neither could break away from the other, and it was whittled down to execution down the stretch.
Estonia staged a late fightback, and a basket from Laura Grunmann in the last seconds made it 72-70, but a late miss inside from Grunmann fell into the hands of Sweden's Lisen Curman, who iced the game from the foul line with 0.3 seconds left. Curman led the victors with 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Grunmann led Estonia with 24.
