    Kosovo delighted the home fans with victory

    The tournament hosts prevailed after going unbeaten to take the crown.

    PRISTINA (Kosovo) - Kosovo won the title on home soil in the FIBA U18 Women’s EuroBasket 2024, Division C with a 75-65 win over Azerbaijan.

    The balanced scoring attack of the hosts saw Malvina Haziri - who had previously averaged 6.3 points per game in the tournament - go off in the Final for 24 points with five threes.

    The victors also relied on scoring contributions from Merisa Bilalli who had 15 points and Gerta Hoti with 13.

    Tournament MVP Flutra Mehmeti had a quieter scoring night with 9 points but sank the dagger three-pointer to take the game beyond Azerbaijan’s reach.

    Azerbaijan’s prolific scorers in Angelina Ismayilova and Silan Akbingol were outmatched despite combining for 37, Akbingol providing a double-double of 19 points with 12 assists.

    Albania celebrated securing their place on the podium.

    Albania got their hands on the bronze with a convincing win in the Third Place Game, 70-55 over Cyprus as both Emily Tershalla and Luna Luca recorded double-doubles, and Emilia Lazo providing a game-high 17 points.

    Elsewhere, Georgia secured fifth place in the 5-7 Classification group after a tight 61-56 victory over Malta.
