For the record, Bangkok in Thailand will host the FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup 2026 – Division B from July 13-19 this year and Seremban in Malaysia will see action in the FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup 2026 – Division A from Oct 4-10.

Philippines are automatic participants in the competition in Seremban by virtue of their stellar performance in and promotion from Division B of the FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup 2024 in China.

And Thailand by virtue of being the hosts of the FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup 2026 – Division B are already qualified for that competition.

Yet the two teams were a part of the competition at the FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup 2026 SEABA Qualifiers, which seen from a competition point of view was an event to identify South East (SEABA) Sub-Zone’s representatives to the FIBA Asia U18 Women’s Asia Cup 2026 – Division B.

As things would have it, Philippines brooked no challenge winning all their four games by consummate margins as they set the course to remain in the Elite division in Seremban, when they line up against Australia, China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Chinese Taipei.

Indonesia suffered their only defeat in four games at the hands of Philippines and thus will represent the Sub-Zone in Bangkok. The Timnas Putris, who were relegated from the Elite Division in China two years ago, losing to fellow SEABA team Malaysia, will get another shot at promotion when they take to the court in July at Bangkok.
