    June 14 Recap: USA, Canada to meet again for FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup showdown

    The continental rivals defeated Venezuela and Argentina in the Semi-Finals and will meet for the title for the sixth consecutive edition.

    IRAPUATO (Mexico) – USA and Canada advanced to the FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup 2026 Final with Semi-Final victories over Venezuela and Argentina, respectively. Both teams dominated the Group Phase with perfect records and lived up to expectations in the Playoffs. Meanwhile, Venezuela and Argentina will battle for the bronze medal. The matchup will mark the sixth consecutive Final between USA and Canada and their eighth championship-game meeting in tournament history. USA came out victorious in all of those matchups (2006, 2008, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2022, and 2024) and enters the Final riding an 11-title streak. Overall, USA has won 12 titles and will be aiming for a record extending 13th title. On the other hand, Canada will be seeking their first-ever championship.
