Although he was still representing Mali's youth team, he had already spent a considerable amount of time playing in Spain for Casademont Zaragoza, a club he would go on to represent at the FIBA Europe Cup in both 2024 and 2026.

Earlier this month, he announced on social media that he had committed to the High Point University Panthers, joining the many other players from Mali who have committed to or are pursuing college careers in the United States.

However, they secured a place at the 2023 U19 World Cup in Hungary.

Following two BWB Global competitions, he spent a season with the Seward County Saints at a US community college.

Now aged 21, M'madi has already represented his country at the 2025 AfroBasket and competed for them at the 2027 FIBA World Cup Africa qualifiers in Senegal in February.

He currently plays professionally for the French third-tier club BC Orchies.

Coulibaly and Mali will take to the global stage at the U19 Basketball World Cup in Latvia in 2021.

He was also a key member of the legendary national U19 team that made history for African basketball by becoming the first team from the continent to reach the final of the 2019 FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup in Greece.

He has since played in two AfroBaskets (in 2021 and 2025) and two FIBA Basketball World Cup Africa qualifiers (in 2023 and 2027).

At senior national level, Sousa was part of the Angolan team that won the 12th AfroBasket title at home last year.
