    1

Koa Peat is the one player in the history of the competition to win two FIBA U17 World Cup crowns - 2022 and 2024. Since USA have won every title, it would have to be an American and Peat is the only USA player to appear in this competition twice. Peat actually became the second player to play in two U17 World Cups as Ahmed Khalaf starred for Egypt in 2014 and 2016.

    2

Australia's last podium finish in 2014

Two medals is the most by any country besides USA in U17 World Cup history. While the Americans have seven golds, Australia are second-best all time with second placed finishes in 2012 and 2014 with France and Türkiye each picking up a silver and bronze. France were second in 2018 and third in 2022; and Türkiye were runners-up in 2016 and third in 2024.

Côte d'Ivoire celebrate their first U16 continental crown

There are three debutants in the 2026 field - Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire and Venezuela. That is the most first-timers since six teams debuted in 2016 (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chinese Taipei, Dominican Republic, Finland, Mali and Türkiye).

    7

Could Slovenia become the next first-timer to reach the podium?

There have been seven U17 World Cups and each time at least one country reached the podium for the first time in history. Italy took second place in 2024 for their first medal. That could be a good omen for the seven teams who have yet to reach the top three: Cameroon, China, Côte d'Ivoire, Japan, New Zealand, Slovenia and Venezuela.

    8

Tomas Zanzottera buried 8 three-pointers against China in 2010

What is the record for the most three-pointers in a single game? The answer is 8 - done twice back in 2010: Tomas Zanzottera of Argentina versus China; and China's Xiaochuan Zhai against Egypt.

    15

Radovan Kouril dished out 15 assists against France in 2012

Radovan Kouril is the record holder for the most assists in a single game as the Czechia playmaker dazzled France with 15 dimes in a 70-64 victory for the 2012 hosts.

    32

Oumar Ballo grabbed an incredible 32 rebounds in a single game in 2018

While 15 assists will be hard to overcome, the single game rebound mark seems completely unbreakable. Oumar Ballo grabbed an incredible 32 boards for Mali in a thrilling 110-108 double-overtime loss to Dominican Republic in 2018. The 15-year-old big man, who won a spot on the All-Star Five for 12th placed Mali, also set a record with 22 defensive rebounds in the Classification 9-12 game.

    49

Just how dominant was the USA team in 2024? Consider the Americans blew away the competition's previous team assists record of 36 - set by USA versus Egypt back in 2010. USA dished out 49 assists in a 141-45 Round of 16 win over Philippines. But the Americans handed at least 40 assists five times during the 2024 event.

    50

The single game scoring record is held by two players. Dzanan Musa was so disappointed about Bosnia and Herzegovina losing in the Round of 16 in 2016 that he dropped 50 points in the next game against Chinese Taipei. Abdouramane Toure of Guinea equalled that mark in 2024 with 50 points against China in Classification 13-14.

    51

All USA does is win - like the 2022 Final

United States enter the 2026 event with a 51-game winning streak - having never lost a single game in seven tournaments.

    56

The record for the highest player efficiency in a game is 56 held by Isaac Humphries in 2014. In the teams' final group stage game, Humphries scored 41 points on 16 of 23 shots and 9 of 11 free throws to go with 19 rebounds, 2 assists and 5 blocks - albeit an 85-74 loss to Canada.

    64.3

The Americans as mentioned before have never lost a game. But USA set an incredible team record in 2024 as they had an average winning margin of 64.3 points. They registered victories by 23, 75, 84, 96, 51, 80 and 41 points in Istanbul two summers ago.

    146

USA set the all-time single game scoring mark

While the single game scoring record for a player is 50 points, the record for the most points for a team is 146 - of course by United States. The Americans set the mark in 2024 with a 146-62 win over China in the final group stage game. The 2024 USA team produced the three highest scoring outputs in U17 World Cup history: 145 points versus New Zealand and 141 points against Philippines.

    225

One statistic to show how complete a player or team performs is efficiency. While Australian Isaac Humphries is the single game record holder as a player, the 2024 USA team holds the mark for single game team efficiency. They registered an efficiency mark of 225 in their 141-45 victory in the Round of 16. The Americans also had the second-highest mark two years ago with a 220 efficiency in their 146-62 win over China.

    2010

The first U17 World Cup champs from 2010

2010 was the year the U17 World Cup was born with the first edition being played in Hamburg, Germany. It has been played biennially ever since besides the 2020 event which was cancelled due to the Covid pandemic.
