BERTRANGE (Luxembourg) - There was a double celebration for Ariel Vincente, as she not only helped Portugal secure promotion but was also named MVP of Tournament 2 of FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket 2026, Division B.
Vincente finished the tournament averaging 10.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 steals, capped with an all-around 6 points, 7 rebounds, 5 steals and 2 blocks in a 65-57 win over Finland in the Final.
Her standout performance came against Ukraine in the Semi-Finals, when the forward bagged a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds, shooting an impressive 7-for-12 from the floor. Vicente also added 6 assists and 4 steals to the impressive stat line.
Before that, Vicente had 8 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals against Luxembourg, followed by 9 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals in their win over the Netherlands.
As well as her impressive defensive prowess, Vicente was wise beyond her years when it came to shot selection, shooting a solid 56 percent from the field.
