PAPEETE (Tahiti) - The official logos for the FIBA Polynesian Cup and FIBA Women’s Polynesian Cup 2026 have been revealed, marking a defining moment for the regional qualifiers as Tahiti prepares to welcome neighbouring nations ahead of the Pacific Games 2027.
These new visual identities carry the weight of culture, community, and sporting ambition, designed to honour the traditions of Polynesia while celebrating the energy and global spirit of basketball. The creative direction draws from the cultural elements with motifs that speak to heritage, craftsmanship, voyaging, guardianship, and the deep connections between islands.
The patterns are more than aesthetic choices; they are storytelling devices. They reflect the artistry found in tatau, weaving, carving, and Tahitian iconography, and they anchor the basketball silhouette in a distinctly Polynesian narrative.
Tahiti’s natural environment inspired the colour palette, bringing together ocean blues, warm earth tones, and vibrant accents reminiscent of coral and sunrise horizons. This grounds the event firmly in its host nation while celebrating the wider Polynesian family.
The design also acknowledges Tahiti’s role as host of the Pacific Games 2027, creating a visual bridge between the upcoming regional competition and the momentum building toward the Games. The logos carry a sense of elevation and forward movement, mirroring the growth of basketball across Polynesia and the rising profile of the region on the international stage.
The men’s and women’s logos share a unified visual identity while standing independently as symbols of representation, excellence, and equity. Together, they reinforce FIBA’s commitment to strengthening pathways for athletes across Oceania and celebrating the diversity of the region’s basketball communities.
With the women's teams from the Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Guam, Papua New Guinea, and Tahiti (host) already qualified for the Pacific Games 2027, alongside the men from the Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, and Tahiti (host), the top two placed teams in the women's and men's competitions at the FIBA Polynesian Cups will also secure Games qualification.
The 2026 editions of the FIBA Polynesian Cup and FIBA Women's Polynesian Cup will tip-off on October 19 to 24 from Toahotu.
