Another Final for the team from the United States

History repeating. For the second straight season, the Final of the FIBA Intercontinental Cup sees Unicaja and NBA G League United.

SINGAPORE (Singapore) - There were plenty of possibilities ahead of the final game in Group B, including a potential three-way tie at 1-1.

However, NBA G League United took care of business and advanced to the championship game by sweeping the group and setting up another date with Unicaja in the Final.

    Triple-headed monster defeats the Hawks

The Illawarra Hawks suffered a heart-breaking defeat to Flamengo in overtime just 24 hours earlier, but knew that everything was still in their hands, as they would've advanced to the Final with a win by three points or more.

However, the Big Three of NBA G League United had other ideas. Chasson Randle was the man of the hour early on, finishing with 23 points, knocking down four threes.

Feron Hunt was effective all game long with 21 points and 8 rebounds, while all the big buckets down the stretch came from Jaden Shackelford.

He came off the bench and counted to 26 points in as many minutes, earning the Player of the Game honors.

It finished 100-94, meaning United won the group, Flamengo finished second, while the Hawks had to settle for third.

The result means NBA G League United will face Unicaja in the Final for the second straight season. Last time around, the Spaniards won the title game 75-60.

With this win, they finished the group phase at 1-1, meaning they take on Flamengo in the Third-Place Game on Sunday. Meanwhile, Utsunomiya Brex will play the Classification Game 5-6 against the Illawarra Hawks.

BAL champions Alahli SC led for more than 32 minutes against the team from Japan, and they closed out the game by not panicking even when Utsunomiya Brex cut the gap to just four points.
