MUNICH (Germany) - Devonte Green has led Azerbaijani debutants Neftchi IK to a strong start in the FIBA Europe Cup Regular Season, and scooped the October MVP honor as a result.

The 28 year old averaged 21.0 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game during the month to lead his side to a 2-1 record in Group I.

In those three games, the American shot an impressive 52.6 percent from the field and 48 percent from three-point land.

However, it didn't start well for Neftchi, as they were humbled in their opener, 92-63 away to Energa Trefl Sopot. Green did dish out 4 assists and pull down 4 rebounds, but was held to just 9 points.

Green bounced back emphatically the following week against BC Kalev/Cramo, by pouring in a 35-point, 13-rebound double-double, hitting seven three-pointers, and adding 4 steals and 2 blocks in his impressive haul, leading to a 95-84 win.

The month culminated in Green draining five triples for 19 points, along with 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks in Neftchi's 104-86 win over fellow Azerbaijani side Absheron Lions.
