Who to watch for in the FIBA Europe Cup Qualifiers.

MUNICH (Germany) - With anticipation building towards the start of the FIBA Europe Cup season, star players will be looking to steal the spotlight in the Qualifiers.

With the pairings set and the last spots ready to be decided, let’s see who will be players to keep an eye on during these Qualifiers.

    Elvar Fridriksson - Anwil Wloclawek

    POINT GUARD

Birth Date: Nov 11, 1994 (30 years old) Height: 183 cm / 6'0" Nationality: ISL

Fresh off his FIBA EuroBasket campaign with Iceland, veteran point guard Elvar Fridriksson will be a key component in Anwil Wloclawek's roster this season, and having spent last season with Maroussi BC, he knows how to navigate his way through the FIBA Europe Cup Qualifiers - having done so with the Greek side.

Averaging 13.2 points and 6.7 assists with Maroussi last term, Fridriksson will bring experience as a floor general to the Polish side, who won this very competition back in 2023. The Icelandic guard can also score quickly if needed.

    Tevin Brown - RASTA

    SHOOTING GUARD

Birth Date: Sep 23, 1998 (26 years old) Height: 196 cm / 6'5" Nationality: USA

Tevin Brown will bring a smart basketball IQ to FIBA Europe Cup newcomers RASTA, having spent a season in Poland with Lublin. Predominantly an effective scorer off the pick-and-roll, Brown will look to get into good scoring positions, but he is also an unselfish player, always getting his teammates involved.

Brown can also play well in the open floor, making him a handful for any defense. After success in New Zealand, France and Poland, his goal is to lead RASTA to the FIBA Europe Cup Regular Season.

    Edin Atic - Bosna

Edin Atic was a key member of Bosnia and Hergovina at FIBA EuroBasket

    SMALL FORWARD

Birth Date: Jan 19, 1997 (28 years old) Height: 201 cm / 6'7" Nationality: BIH

One of the key figures for Bosnia and Herzegovina at the recent FIBA EuroBasket, Edin Atic will now look to guide Bosnian giants Bosna to the Regular Season. For the national team, he was a reliable figure with a 15-point, 8-rebound showing against Greece during the Group Phase victory a particular highlight.

Now, he hopes that his positive performances will translate into his club basketball as he fronts a Bosna team, with an excellent European pedigree, in the Regular Season.

Tobi Ewuosho - Kangoeroes Basket Mechelen

    GUARD

    Birth Date: Aug 8, 1997 (28 years old) Height: 196 cm / 6'5" Nationality: USA/NGR

An offensive-minded player who can score in many ways, Tobi Ewuosho will look to be the key figure for Kangoeroes Basket Mechelen in the Qualifiers. He averaged 15.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.6 steals last season with Den Helder Suns and now makes the switch.

He will look to emulate that this season with Mechelen as they look to progress to the Regular Season as they did in the 2022-23 season.

    Kresimir Radovcic - KK Cibona

    GUARD

Birth Date: Apr 19, 1997 (28 years old) Height: 192 cm / 6'4" Nationality: CRO

While some players were competing at FIBA EuroBasket, Kresimir Radovcic was guiding Croatia to the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Qualifiers in November. He averaged a shade under eight points a game as his side finished the Pre-Qualifiers unbeaten back in August.

Now he will look to take KK Cibona - a team with a rich history in continental competition - back to where they feel they belong. But they need to get past BC Prievidza first to advance to the Regular Season.
