FIBA Europe Cup draw sets out path for 2025-26 season

    Teams participating in the new FIBA Europe Cup season learned their opponents on Wednesday.

    MUNICH (Germany) - The groups for the 2025-26 FIBA Europe Cup Regular Season and pairings for the Qualifiers have been drawn in Munich, Germany on Wednesday.

    The Regular Season will once again feature 40 teams split into 10 groups of four, with 14 teams receiving direct berths, up to 19 teams arriving from the Basketball Champions League Qualification Rounds and a further 14 clubs competing in the Qualifiers for seven guaranteed places.

    The teams from the Basketball Champions League were conditionally placed in the draw; and will be replaced by a 'lucky loser' from the FIBA Europe Cup Qualifiers should they advance to the BCL Regular Season.

    The draw was attended by FIBA Executive Director Europe Kamil Novak, with former Finland international Shawn Huff assisting with the ceremony as a guest.

    The groups for the Regular Season are as follows:

    Group A: UCAM Murcia (ESP)*; Rilski Sportist (BUL)*; Start Lublin (POL)*; Winner FEC Qualifiers pairing 3 (Kangoeroes Basket Mechelen vs KK Bosna BH Telecom)

    Group B: FC Porto (POR)*; Windrose Giants Antwerp (BEL)*; Rostock Seawolves (GER); Tartu Ulikool Maks & Moorits (EST)

    Group C: CSM Oradea (ROU)*; AEK Larnaca (CYP)*; Aliaga Petkimspor (TUR); Winner FEC Qualifiers pairing 6 (BC Dnipro vs CSM Corona Brasov)

    Group D: BK Patrioti Levice (SVK)*; Keravnos BC (CYP); Cedevita Junior (CRO); Pelister Bitola (MKD)*

    Group E: Surne Bilbao Basket (ESP); Peristeri BC (GRE); BC Kutaisi 2010 (GEO)*; Winner FEC Qualifiers pairing 7 (Transcom Parnu vs Basket Brno)

    Group F: PAOK (GRE)*; Trepca (KOS)*; Basketball Lowen Braunschweig (GER)*; Winner FEC Qualifiers pairing 2 (Anwil Wloclawek vs BC Bashkimi)

    Group G: Sporting CP (POR); Dinamo BDS Sassari (ITA); CS Valcea 1924 (ROU); Winner FEC Qualifiers pairing 4 (BC Balkan vs RASTA)

    The pairings for the Qualifiers are as follows:

    Pairing 1: Anorthosis Famagusta (CYP) vs Absheron Lions (AZE)

    Pairing 2: Anwil Wloclawek (POL) vs BC Bashkimi (KOS)

    Pairing 3: Kangoeroes Basket Mechelen (BEL) vs KK Bosna BH Telecom (BIH)

    Pairing 4: BC Balkan (BUL) vs RASTA (GER)

    Pairing 5: BC Prievidza (SVK) vs KK Cibona (CRO)

    Pairing 6: BC Dnipro (UKR) vs CSM Corona Brasov (ROU)

    Pairing 7: Transcom Parnu (EST) vs Basket Brno (CZE)

    The FIBA Europe Cup Qualifiers will be played across two games in a home-and-away format, with the ties taking place on September 24 and October 1.
