Revenge for Athinaikos; Panathinaikos duo too hot to handle

Athinaikos celebrated as they not only edged out Besiktas 84-82 in a sensational overtime contest, but avenged a heartbreaking loss against their rivals earlier in the season.

Stamping a Play-Off Round 1 pass, Holly Winterburn excelled with 19 points and 6 assists, as did Robyn Parks with a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Elizabeth Elliott came up with a truly majestic performance efficiency valuation of 47 for Beroe Stara Zagora, although her stellar 38 points and 13 rebounds was not enough to avoid a narrow 78-74 defeat to BCF Elfic Fribourg.

Panathinaikos had to work hard to eventually see off Neptunas Amberton 94-87 in a superb shootout as Feyonda Fitzgerald and Ioanna Chatzileonti caught fire. Both scoring 29 points, the former also added 6 assists and 5 boards, with Chatzileonti pulling down 11 boards.

Beatrix Meresz was outstanding as ACS Sepsi SIC dug out a 1-point victory

Beatrix Meresz was superb for ACS Sepsi-SIC as they only just edged out TARR KSC Szekszard 86-82. The forward did it all to take her team to victory with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. The defeat was tough on Reka Dombai who produced 21 points and 10 assists, with Liza Karlen dropping 24 points, 9 boards and 5 steals.

Charnay Basket are breathing a sigh of relief after a nerve-shredding 87-86 victory at KSSSE ENEA AZS AJP Gorzow. Sara Chevaugeon was the hero with five triples in her eye-catching haul of 24 points.

It was the same outcome for MB Zaglebie Sosnowiec who blew an 18-point advantage at SL Benfica, only to recover and grind out a 66-65 win. A jump shot with 12 seconds remaining from Matea Tadic sealed the deal.
