GUADALAJARA (Mexico) – Brandon Weatherspoon delivered a record-breaking performance on Wednesday night, knocking down 9 three-pointers to lead Paisas Basketball Club to a comfortable 98-75 victory over Caimanes del Llano in Group A action of the Basketball Champions League Americas at Arena Astros.
Weatherspoons’ 9 makes from beyond the arc are the most by a player in a single game in the competition’s history, surpassing the previous mark of 8 shared by Mexico’s Omar De Haro and Argentina’s José Vildoza.
Turning point
Paisas cruised through without looking back. A 29–16 first quarter set the tone, and they maintained control of the scoreboard the rest of the way. The only period they dropped was the third, and only by a single point (24–23).

Weatherspoon buried 9 of his 14 attempts from long range for an outstanding 64 percent shooting from three. He also grabbed 3 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists, finishing with an efficiency rating of 33.
Michael Miles also stood out for the winners with 23 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds. Brandon Tabb followed with 17 points and 6 boards. For Caimanes, four players scored in double figures.
