Building on the expertise secured during FIBA Competitions throughout the global pandemic, the latest version of the FIBA Covid-19 protocol continues to set out the framework for their safe implementation.
Media accreditation will only be provided to individuals who comply with the local testing requirements (host country regulations). FIBA will not require PCR tests for fully or non-vaccinated individuals. These may however be required for travel and entry in the country.
All accredited media who are in contact with teams must comply with local COVID-19 protocols and:
Interview opportunities with a few selected players will be organized for all Rights-Holder and selected Non-Rights Holder media.
These interviews will be carried out in a pre-defined location around the court area or in an appropriate Mixed zone area.
Press conferences will be organized in the venues. Only Rights-Holders and selected Non-Rights Holders will be entitled to attend in person.
Remote access to the post-game press conferences should be guaranteed (for ex. Via Zoom).
Subject to FIBA confirmation a limited number of Rights-Holders and selected Non-Rights Holder will have the possibility to access the end (5 minutes) of practice sessions.
Arrangements should be made on-site with the Broadcast Operations Venue Manager and Media Officer and must comply to the protocol requirements.
The national federation hosting a game or group will be responsible for the delivery of the accreditation decisions for any home game.
Should you have any questions, please contact accreditation@fiba.basketball or the host national federation directly. You can find a list of national federations contacts in the FIBA Media Centre.
FIBA and its National Federation are looking forward to welcoming you back in the arenas.
