The Road Show 2014 is an exciting initiative put together by FIBA and FEB in order to spread the word about the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup, with a keen focus on bringing the fun of basketball to as many people as possible. The Road Show 2014 is further proof that FIBA’s flagship competition is not just a 15-day event but an important phenomenon that could stop on your doorstep long before the event even starts.
The Road Show 2014 is an articulated full-size truck that holds a travelling exhibit where you can find anything to do with basketball: from unique pieces of history to state-of-the-art interactive games. It also features four basketball half-courts that will allow all participants to have some fun while enjoying an atmosphere featuring music, games, cheerleaders and exciting contests with great prizes to be won.
The inside of the Road Show 2014 truck is filled with basketball memorabilia that takes us on a journey from the very origins of basketball in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA in 1891 and all the way to the modern day with the latest medals won by national teams.
Did you know that the very first rule which Dr James Naismith - the inventor of basketball - stated was that the ball used to play the sport should be a football?
Along with these timeless historical pieces, the Road Show 2014 also features touch screens that will allow you to watch incredible footage retracing the evolution of the sport since its inception. The interactive platform/device You also allows you to shoot virtual free-throws, compete against other cities or share your experience on Facebook.
The initiative's outdoor activities have something to offer for everyone: 3x3 competitions, three-point contests, King of the Court challenges, Cheerleader exhibitions, etc... All these fun activities will ensure participants have a full day of fun in the best atmosphere possible.
The Road Show 2014 will travel throughout Spain and across a large part of Europe to ensure that YOU do not miss all the basketball and fun! Do not miss the opportunity to see it if you have a chance.
