How to qualify

The FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Pre-Qualifiers will be played in two rounds, and will determine the identity of the 8 national teams joining the 16 who have already qualified for the FIBA Asia Cup 2022.

In the First Round, teams in each region (Western and Eastern) will be divided into two groups with Groups A  and B for the Western Region, and Groups C and D for the Eastern Region. These groups will play separate Round Robin tournaments to qualify the three best ranked teams to the Second Round.

In the Second Round, the three best ranked teams in Groups A and B will carry their First Round records and combine as Group E, while the three best ranked teams in Group D will also carry their numbers and combine with Guam and Singapore as Group F.

The top 4 teams from each group will advance to the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers.
