CHENZHOU, CHINA (FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2017) - Al Riyadi Lebanon seized the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2017 title after defeating China Kashgar 88-59 in Saturday’s Final in Chenzhou, China.
CHENZHOU, CHINA (FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2017) - Al Riyadi Lebanon seized the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2017 title after defeating China Kashgar 88-59 in Saturday’s Final in Chenzhou, China.
Al Riyadi had a strong start to the game, leading by 8 points after the first quarter and proceeding to cruise to the convincing win.
Chris Daniels had 25 points and 10 rebounds for Al Riyadi, which also drew 23 points, 6 assists and 3 steals from Quincy Douby. Point guard Wael Arakji also did well with an 11-point, 10-assist double-double.
China Kashgar’s Darius Adams was heralded as the tournament's MVP and headlined the All-Star Five where he was joined by both Daniels and Douby along with Petrochimi’s Arsalan Kazemi and BC Astana’s Justin Carter.
The gold medals and the trophy were presented by FIBA Asia President Sheikh Saud bin Ali Al-Thani. The MVP was awarded by Liu Anan, General Manager of Tencent Sports.
Earlier in the day, Carter led BC Astana in pocketing third place after they beat Petrochimi, 81-78.
