U17 Games: Thursday 30 June

ZARAGOZA (2016 FIBA U17 World Championship) - All 16 teams are in action again on Thursday at the 2016 FIBA U17 World Championship, highlighted by the Quarter-Finals.

QUARTER-FINALS

Turkey v Canada

Turkey's dream of a podium finish is still alive but standing in the way are mighty Canada. The Europeans, who are making their U17 Worlds debut, have not been overly impressive - getting past Egypt, Chinese Taipei and Mali en route to reaching the Final Eight. But the Turks barely kept it close against the USA. Undefeated Canada are rolling right now and only getting better as David DeAveiro's men get accustomed to one another.

Lithuania v France

The sole all-European match-up promises to be a great match-up. The Lithuanians' only loss came against Spain and Gediminas Petrauskas' team plays so well together. France are longer and more athletic than Lithuania but will need to be disciplined on defence to keep Lithuania from creating space for their three-point shooters.

Spain v Australia

Spain will face a real challenge from Australia, who are hoping to get past the hosts for another shot at the Canadians - who beat the green and gold on Day 1 of the tournament. Spain have one of the biggest injury question marks of the Quarter-Finals in Miguel Gonzalez, who missed the Round of 16 game against Chinese Taipei after getting injured in the first minute of the final Group Stage game against Argentina. Spain's chances would greatly improve if the guard could play.

United States v Korea

On paper, this looks like a blowout as the USA are bigger, stronger, more athletic, deeper and more talented than Korea. That's why they play the games. Still, Korea would need a historic shooting night if they were to hand the Americans their first-ever loss in this competition. Luckily, Korean star Yang Jae Min had a full day to rest his tender ankle, which he injured in the Round of 16 battle against China.

CLASSIFICATION 9-12

Dominican Republic v Bosnia and Herzegovina

Debutants Dominican Republic will go for victory number two as they take on Bosnia and Herzegovina in a Classification 9-12 game and Dzanan Musa, who broke the individual game scoring record in the Classification 13-16 by hitting for 50 points. Bosnia won the match-up between these teams in the Group Stage 84-59

China v Finland

China and Finland will square off for the second time at the U17 Worlds after the debutants from Europe won in the Group Stage 64-58

CLASSIFICATION 13-16

Mali v Chinese Taipei

Mali have already booked one victory in their maiden U17 Worlds while Chinese Taipei are yet to pick up a win in their first trip to the tournament.

Argentina v Egypt

Argentina are still without a victory - after picking up at least three wins in their previous three U17 Worlds appearances, and it will be a tough test with Egypt. The big man match-up of Francisco Caffaro and Ahmed Khalaf should be fun to watch.
