Today's U17 Men’s Games: Thursday 23 June

ZARAGOZA (2016 FIBA U17 World Championship) - Here are the eight games to watch on Day 1 of the 2016 FIBA U17 World Championship.

Check out all of the action live on FIBA's YouTube channel.

Korea v France

Korea come into the U17 Worlds as Asian champions and want to show they can play at the same level at the world stage. France hope their journey ends atop the podium and this is the first step.

Finland v China

Much of the talk in Group C is about Australia and Canada, but China are three-time Quarter-Finalists and have a deep talented roster. And debutants Finland are hungry to exhibit their country’s improving style of basketball.

Bosnia and Herzegovina v Dominican Republic

A showdown of two debutants with Bosnia and Herzegovina coming in as European champions while Dominican Republic took fourth place in FIBA Americas. There will be plenty of intrigue dealing with nerves, expectations and differing styles of play.

Australia v Canada

This could be a tournament-alternating game for both teams. The two-time reigning finalists Australia have been together for seven weeks while Canada have not even been together in the 12-man grouping for seven days.

Spain v Mali

Hosts Spain enter the tournament hoping to give the home fans reason to celebrate. Mali meanwhile are making their U17 Worlds debut and would love to match their female counterparts, who shocked Brazil in the women's tournament. The African runners-up do have loads of size and length which could disturb’s Spain’s game.

Argentina v Lithuania

Argentina have not gotten good results in their preparations but everything counts now - plus talented center Francisco Caffaro has been out injured and might play. Lithuania have high goals for the tournament and want to start strong.

United States v Chinese Taipei

The three-time reigning champions United States have a four-peat on their minds and don’t want to slip up in their first game. Chinese Taipei must overcome a major size difference to challenge the Americans.

Egypt v Turkey

Egypt have their sights set on better results than the past - aiming at least to reach the Quarter-Finals. A victory over Turkey would be a big step. Turkey are making their debut and want to show the world what Europeans have long known - that they have loads of talent.
