MUNICH (Germany) - The first gameday of FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers action saw a number of players suit up for their senior national team debuts, with quite a few standout performances among them.

Nyara Sabally - Germany

POWER FORWARD

Height: 6ft 2in / 1.87 cm
Club: ZVVZ USK Praha (CZE)

Statistics: 31 EFF; 17 PTS; 13 REB; 3 AST; 2 BLK

There were many reasons for Sabally to celebrate this 85-41 win against Czechia. From her brilliant display with big numbers, to doing it alongside her sister Satou, to doing it on the same court where she plays her club basketball with ZVVZ USK Praha. Germany have another stellar talent and just became even more physically dominant too.

Stephanie Mavunga - Poland

POWER FORWARD

Birth Date: February 24, 1995
Height: 6ft 3in / 1.91 cm
Club: KGHM BC Polkowice (POL)

Statistics: 20 EFF; 21 PTS; 8 REB; 3 BLK

It was a debut to remember as Mavunga proved to be the difference-maker for Poland as they caused a huge upset by winning 67-62 in Antwerp against reigning champions Belgium. It was not just her all-around performance and numbers that caught the eye, but also the passion and intensity she had wearing the jersey of her adopted nation.

Taya Davis-Reimer - Montenegro

Height: 6ft 3in / 1.90 cm
Club: Botas (TUR)

Statistics: 18 EFF; 19 PTS; 5 REB

Davis-Reimer had been hoping to debut at the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2023, but that honor went to Natasha Mack and it looks like Montenegro's new powerhouse in the paint is ready to make up for lost time. She was excellent as her side cruised their way to a 90-71 road win during their Balkan derby with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Dorka Juhasz - Hungary

POWER FORWARD/ CENTER

Birth Date: December 18, 1999
Height: 6ft 4in / 1.92 cm
Club: Beretta Famila Schio (ITA)

Statistics: 7 PTS; 8 REB; 2 STL

While on face value her numbers in the 70-51 success against Slovenia were not massive (but nicely accumulated in a modest minutes), the wider significance of Juhasz stepping out is that it makes Hungary deeper, better and capable of continuing their recent rise. With the frontcourt star only likely to get better and better, it's so exciting for fans.

Brianna Fraser - Azerbaijan

So often breathing fire with KGHM BC Polkowice in EuroLeague Women, the choice of Fraser to help Azerbaijan re-integrate into the Qualifiers which they are not that familiar with is a rock solid option. She wasted no time in showing she can help them at least be competitive - despite eventually going down 99-62 in Lithuania.
