YAOUNDE (Cameroon) - For Senegal enterprising forward, Oumoul Khairy Sarr nothing can be too good as to have a blue print in before calling it quit with basketball.

The 37-year-old forward says that basketball has been everything to her and she can't think less of the game that has brought her fame and fortune after retirement which she says is around the corner.

Sarr told FIBA.basketball at the Palais Polyvalent des Sports after helping her county to a hard-fought 78-63 win over a fearless Egyptian side in both sides' last Group C games in the 26th edition of the FIBA Women's AfroBasket.

Sarr contributed 12 points and five rebounds in Senegal's second straight in their group, and look strongly placed to advance automatically to the Quarter-Finals.

The soft spoken forward hinted that the 2021 edition of the continent flagship women championship might be her last after representing her country in five previous editions and two FIBA Basketball Women's World Cup appearances.

The 1.90m (6ft 3in), however, hinted on retiring from the game and take two to three years break to be with her family whom she described as her greatest assets.

On life after her playing career, she said with passion to relaunch herself into basketball development and contribute her quota to the continuous growth of the game in her native Senegal and the African continent.

"I am delighted to speak with FIBA.basketball, though I am kind of shy because I am not so fluent in English language as in Spanish and French languages," the Senegalese international admitted.

"Yes, I am considering retiring as a player after almost twenty years and I am grateful for being spotted by the Senegalese national team handlers and to the entire country for giving the opportunity to represent my country in five FIBA Women's AfroBasket.

"Without mincing words this might be my last AfroBasket because I believe my family, who are my rock, deserve to have me around them and I am planning to take two to three years off to be with them as a pay back.

"And after my resting period my plan is to join hands with our Federation in any capacity I can function. I am not ruling out coaching but mostly I want to concentrate on youth development," declared the IDK Gipuzkoa basketball club of Spain forward.
