YAOUNDE (AfroBasket Women 2015) - Djeneba N'Diaye, Mali's youngest player, proved too much for Mozambique's defense as they improved their mark to 3-1 at AfroBasket Women 2015. 

N'Diaye came off the bench with key plays, propelling Mali to a 57-52 victory. 

Turning Point: After trailing for most of the second-half, Deolinda Ngulela hit a three-pointer with 7:28 minutes remaining, giving Mozambique a short-lived 48-47 lead while Nassira Traore responded with a layup and the Western Africans never trailed again.

Stats Don't Lie: Mali, the tallest team in the tournament, out-rebounded Mozambique 54-31, and more importantly, the team's bench proved crucial contributing 18 points against Mozambique's two. 

Game Hero: As Mali front-court missed successive shots near the basket, coach Amara Traore called up N'Diaye, and the youngster who is making her debut with the senior team, did not disappoint as she made 3 of Mali's 4 three-pointers to finish with valuable 15 points. 

Bottom Line: Ngulela played the entire 40 minutes, trying to keep Mozambique alive in the contest, but Mali's rotation as well as wider scoring option made the difference in the game. While Mali's 'twin towers' Naignouma Coulibaly (9 points and 18 rebounds) and Kankou Coulibaly (16 points and 5 rebounds) destroyed Mozambique's painted area, the Southern Africans paid the price for their poor ball movement which resulted in only seven assists.
As a result Mozambique dropped their Group A mark to 2-2, while Mali improved to 3-1.
