China finish strong for Group B victory over Argentina

HERAKLION (2015 FIBA U19 World Championship) - A day after failing to convert late and losing, China used a 9-0 run in the final minute to secure their first victory of 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship with a 74-67 win over Argentina in Group B.

Turning Point: Ivan Gramajo had just made a tough lay-up to give Argentina a 67-65 lead when Zhao Yanhao nailed a three-pointer and two free throws and  Hu Jinqiu converted four foul shots to finish off the Argentineans.

Stats Don't Lie: China made 42 percent of their three-pointers while Argentina made just 4-of-29 for 14 percent. And the Asians hit 21-of-25 free throws for 84 percent with Argentina converting 11-of-16 for 69 percent.

Game Hero: Zhao nailed four three-pointers in scoring 23 points to go with four steals, three rebounds, two assists and a block.

The Bottom Line: Finishing the game strong will give China more confidence going on the tournament as they improved to 1-1 in Group B. Argentina dropped to 0-2 and twice have seen teams run away from them in the final stages.
