New Year's Resolutions: Vlad Moldoveanu, Demir Insaat

ISTANBUL (FIBA Europe Cup) - Things are going well for Demir Insaat in the FIBA Europe Cup and Romanian national team star Vlad Moldoveanu has been an integral part of the Turkish side's early success in Europe.

After guiding U-BT Cluj-Napoca to the Second Round last season, the 29-year-old big man moved to Turkey during the off-season and is averaging 9.0 points and 5.6 rebounds per game for Buyukcekmece, who have enjoyed a strong run in the competition so far.

Chillin with the littlest boy! He is getting big!!

Moldoveanu is one of the FIBA Europe Cup players we asked to reflect on the past year and look at the one ahead in our traditional end-of-year interviews.

If you had to single out three important personal moments or experiences of 2017, which three would you choose?
I think at the top of the list, it has to be the birth of my third son. No doubt about it and nothing else compares to it. Over anything, I am a father first. Playing at the EuroBasket comes second. It was a great experience and what made it special for me was that it was in the city that I had just played in and won everything that there was to win in Romania. I would rate that as my third important moment after EuroBasket. Winning all three trophies at home was nice and definitely something that was on my bucket list as a basketball player.

What will be your New Year's resolutions? Do you plan on making any important decisions in your life in 2018?
My New Year's resolution, have not thought about it. Definitely just wish to be healthy in order to be able to work, get better and just improve my game overall. As far as decisions... not as of right now, but I guess we will see what the summer brings.

How do you plan to spend New Year's Eve and New Year's Day? Is there a typical celebration, food, tradition that you have for that day and will you be following it?
I think my last New Year's party was when I was in Benetton and we went to a restaurant as a team, stayed there until 1AM or so and then went home. Since then, the past six years, I have usually been at home. I think once or twice during that time I did not even catch midnight. I am not big on losing nights. I like my sleep.

If you were told that you get to fulfill one big dream or one big wish of yours in 2018, what would you choose?
That is tough, my two biggest dreams are the NBA or playing for FC Barcelona. I would also like to win a European cup and I feel like this year we have a shot at winning the FIBA Europe Cup if we stay focused and we keep working. Either one of those would be great.
