Alba Fehervar get revenge against Nevezis, move to 3-1 in Group J

SZEKESFEHERVAR (FIBA Europe Cup) - Alba Fehervar continued their hot play in the FIBA Europe Cup, inscribing an 88-80 win over Group J rivals Nevezis for their third consecutive victory in the Second Round.

Having picked up an overtime defeat in Lithuania in the first game between the sides, the Hungarians got the revenge they were looking for and improved to a 3-1 record in the standings.

Turning Point: Alba Fehervar had the control of the game in their hands for the majority of the time, but got their big break at the end of the third quarter in the shape of a 21-7 run to pull away to a 70-55 lead heading into the final frame.

Game Hero: One would be hard-pressed to find any flaws in Kasey Hill's performance against Nevezis, with the Alba Fehervar guard collecting 16 points, dishing out 6 assists and coming away with 3 steals while only turning the ball over once in 25 minutes of action.

Stats Don't Lie: Despite shooting better from the field and winning the battle for the rebounds, Nevezis paid a hefty price for being careless with the ball. Ramunas Cvirka's side committed 21 turnovers and Alba Fehervar punished them 21-4 in points from turnovers.

Bottom Line: The win put Alba Fehervar in pole position in Group J with a 3-1 record and also gave them a head-to-head advantage over Nevezis in any possible tie-breaker scenario, as they erased the three-point deficit from the 90-87 loss in Kedainiai.

They Said: "I think it was a good game. We gave up a little bit more on defense than we should have, but fortunately we won the game. We won the game and that's all that matters." - Alba Fehervar guard Kasey Hill.

"It was difficult to play, as we still have a lot of injured players and we didn't have a good rotation. They played very well in the second half. We were fighting, but couldn't make a comeback." - Nevezis forward Tadas Sedekerskis.
