Teams rested and ready for the Semi-Finals in Montenegro

PODGORICA (FIBA U20 Women's European Championship 2016 Division B) - All but two teams were resting ahead of the final two days of competition in Montenegro. Ukraine needed no rest, beating Ireland 69-55, getting closer to the 9th place.

Olga Yatskovets shot 7-of-11 from the floor en route to her team-highs of 18 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks. Vita Horobets had 16 points, Viktoriya Kondus added 15 more for Ukraine, who won despite their 28 turnovers. Ireland shot 29% from the field, Aoife Catherine Whelan had a game-high 20 points in the defeat.

Ukraine are now at 3-0 in the Classification Group 9-13, while Ireland dropped to 0-2. Bulgaria (1-2), Israel (1-1) and Belarus (1-1) are all between them.

The most important battles are yet to come. On Saturday, Hungary will face Slovenia in the first of the Semi-Final, followed by the Lithuania vs. Czech Republic match-up. Lithuania are still the only unbeaten team at the Championship, but Czech Republic showed what they are capable of by defeating Croatia and Romania by a combined 73 points. Slovenia enter the semis on a 3-1 score after their loss to Lithuania. Hungary played the timing of their defeats to perfection, as they are the only team to reach the final four on two losses.

Even the defeated teams from the Semi-Finals have something to play for on Sunday. Both the finalists and the third place winner will be promoted to Division A.
