MUNICH (Germany) - Bourges Basket teenager Iliana Rupert has underlined her status as one of the most exciting global rising stars by being named EuroLeague Women Young Player of the Year.

Still only 18 years-old, the center has landed the first-ever official FIBA Europe award in the category, having posted a super season with the French side.

Averaging more than 20 minutes per game, which highlighted both her talent level and maturity, Rupert shot 50 percent from the floor and accumulated 6.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.

This contributed towards Bourges shrugging off a slow start to the campaign and subsequently powering their way to an 8-6 Regular Season record, eventually finishing in fourth spot in Group A.

Rupert was ranked first by the coaches and took top spot in the media polling, while also coming second in the fans voting. She fought off competition from the other contenders, with Veronika Vorackova of ZVVZ USK Praha taking second place and Vanesa Jasa of TTT Riga taking third.

Euroleague Women Awards recognize the top players and coaches of the 2019-20 Regular Season, with EuroLeague Women coaches, selected media and fans from all around the world deciding the winners.
