The way to the Semifinals

The Basketball Champions League Americas entered into the definition and nobody wants to miss the big games to come. The group phase and quarterfinals are behind. The four are left, but how did they get there ? Here is everything you need to know …

The four semifinalists are three Argentines (Quimsa, San Lorenzo and Instituto) and one Brazilian (Flamengo). However, the only one who arrives undefeated is the team from Rio, which won its four games in Group C and qualified for the semifinals with a 2-0 to Fuerza Regia (Mexico). Quimsa arrives with a 5-1 record, San Lorenzo 6-1 and Instituto 4-3.

FLAMENGO:
The Brazilian team is the best in the competition and was prepared to be champion. Until now he had no cracks and although he faced complicated rivals, he always came out with a victory. His way in the BCLA began in Córdoba in a duel fantastic before the Instituto which will now be repeated in the semifinals. The directed by Gustavo de Conti were imposed by 83-75, in an even match, but in which Franco Balbi's performance was important, with 21 points and 5 triples. From that moment he won the other games, with figures like Olivinha and Marquinhos, key in the operation of the team.

INSTITUTO:
He had a first phase with ups and downs, winning a game at home and another outside, both against Valdivia of Chile. He lost both crosses with Flamengo, but now he will have another possibility, in a totally different context such as a semifinal. In quarterfinals he beat Real Estelí in three games, winning an epic third point in a final for the heart attack in Nicaragua, 90-85. It is true that he will be diminished because he no longer has Dwayne Davis, his scorer, nor another of his foreigners, Raasean Davis. In the last hours Germain Jordan, who comes from Mexico basketball, The Angel Sandrín promises to explode in the first game of the series to receive Flamengo. At the end of Dwayne Davis, The power is Martín Cuello (with an average of 14.7 points) and the internal game that give him the experience of Sam Clancy and Nicolas Romano, chosen in the last window as part of the ideal quintet of the contest should appear.

QUIMSA:
He showed a high-flying basketball, with the extra pass as a flag, but also with a great collective game. He only lost and in supplementary, in his visit to Aguada in Uruguay. But then it was all victory for those led by Sebastián González, who come from being runners-up of the Super 20 in the Liga Nacional of Argentina. Opposite will be San Lorenzo, who will want to take revenge for that end of last weekend. Account with Juan Brussino and Nicolás Copello as leaders from the base, but also has a scoring balance with the good hand of Brandon Robinson or the experience of Mauro Cosolito and Leonardo Mainoldi. Inside we must add the Cuban Ismael Romero and Tavario Miller are the internal game. He will have the field factor in his favor and must continue to prove that he is for great things.

SAN LORENZO:
Boedo's team raised a lot since the arrival of Nestor Garcia, who replaced Facundo Müller in the bank. Moreover, in three weeks in office, he qualified for the semifinals of the BCLA and was champion of the Super 20, a title that the club was missing, just defeating Quimsa in the final. His way in the tournament began by winning Group A with two victories against Mogi das Cruzes and two against Bigua from Uruguay. Then in quarters the requirement would come maximum to eliminate Franca in the last ball of the third point, thanks to a double of Facundo Piñero, the hero of the quarterfinals. San Lorenzo has goal power with Dar Tucker, Luciano González, and even Piñero himself, but also he has the experience of Nicolás Aguirre and Marcos Mata, the team captains, who bring his winning mentality that led him to the "Cyclone" to get so many titles in these years.

Series will be the best of three games, with advantage of locality for Quimsa and Flamengo, the two that settled their series of quarters in two games. Therefore, the keys will begin in Buenos Aires and Cordoba.
