Pesic calls on big names as Serbia ready to lock up World Cup spot

BELGRADE (Serbia) - Svetislav Pesic will have a strong squad available for the final window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Qualifers as Serbia look to lock up their spot at this summer's showcase event. 

Pesic announced a 24-player pool featuring many European stars for games at Greece on Friday, February 24 and at home against Great Britain on Monday, February 27. S

erbia are currently 5-3 in Group I and to qualify for their fifth straight World Cup need only to win one of their final two games. Even two losses could see the Serbians go through as long as Belgium (3-5) lose one of their two games - at Great Britain and at home against Turkey.

In addition to the the likes ofDanilo Andjusic, Aleksa Avramovic, Ognjen Dobric, Marko Guduric, Ognjen Jaramaz, Vasilije Micic, Luka Mitrovic, Nemanja Nedovic, Filip Petrusev and Uros Trifunovic, Pesic named Marko Jagodic-Kuridza, who has appeared in nine of 10 Qualifiers games so far as well as Dusan Ristic, who is second with eight appearances.
