Media accreditation for Window 3 of the 2023 Word Cup African qualifiers now open

ABIDJAN (Cote d'Ivoire) - The media accreditation process for Window 3 of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup African Qualifiers to be held in Alexandria, Abidjan and Kigali from July 1-3 is now underway.

The deadline to apply is Tuesday 28 June (23:59 CET).

ON-SITE AND REMOTE CREDENTIALS

All media representatives, local and international, wishing to cover the event on-site or remotely, are invited to apply through the FIBA Media Portal.

No other form of application will be accepted.

Media representatives that are not planning to travel to one of the events, but wish to follow the event remotely and have the opportunity to ask questions to players and coaches virtually, are kindly asked to apply for a Remote Coverage Accreditation.

MEDIA ACTIVITIES

Mixed Zone interview opportunities.

Interview opportunities with selected players will be organized for all Rights-Holding and Non-Rights Holding media. These interviews will be carried out in a pre-defined location around the court area or in an appropriate Mixed zone area.

Post-game Press Conferences.

Press conferences will be organized in the venues. All media representatives will be entitled to attend in person but their presence will also depend on available space.

As access to the venues is now guaranteed, remote access to the post-game press conferences may not be available for all games (for ex. Via Zoom).

Access to Practice Sessions.

Subject to FIBA confirmation a limited number of Rights-Holders and selected Non-Rights Holder will have the possibility to access the end (5 minutes) of practice sessions. Arrangements should be made on-site with the Broadcast Operations Venue Manager and Media Officer.

Media accreditation will only be provided to individuals who comply with the local testing requirements (according to host country regulations).
