France announce host cities for World Cup European Qualifiers

PARIS (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers) - Fans in the cities of Rouen, Strasbourg and Nancy have the opportunity to watch the France national team when Les Bleus play their FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Qualifiers First Round home games.

The French Basketball Federation (FFBB) made the announcement on Thursday.

France will open their China 2019 Qualifiers campaign at Belgium on November 24 and three days later host one of the sides that makes it through the World Cup European Pre-Qualifiers in Rouen's 6,000-seat Kindarena.

Then in the second window, France will take on Russia on February 22 in the 6,200-seat Rhenus arena and on February 25 host Belgium in Nancy's 6,027-seat Grand Palais des Sports.

Their final two First Round games will be played at the side that comes out of the Pre-Qualifiers, and then in Russia.

France fans love watching the national team. They packed the arena in Montpellier to watch Les Bleus in the Group Phases during FIBA EuroBasket 2015.

When the tournament moved to Lille, Les Bleus set attendance records.

More than 26,000 fans turned out to watch each of their games in Lille's Pierre Mauroy Stadium.

A whopping 26,922 fans packed the venue to watch France square off against Spain in the Semi-Finals.
