Tokyo sellout crowd confirmed for Japan-Iran clash in fourth window

TOKYO (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Asian Qualifiers) - The Ota City Gymnasium in downtown Tokyo has sold out tickets for Japan's next home game in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Asian Qualifiers.

All 3,400 seats have been snapped up, confirming the strong interest and show of support for Japan's hometown fans as the Akatsuki Five host West Asia powerhouse team Iran on September 17.

Iran went 5-1 in the First Round of the Qualifiers and will be flying to Tokyo after their September 13 home game against the Philippines at Tehran's Azady Gym.

Japan, meanwhile, enter the Second Round with a 2-4 mark and need to win nearly all of their games in Group F to even have the most remote shot at making it to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 .

The Japanese are hoping to ride the momentum of the two-game winning streak they established in the third window after beating both Australia and Chinese Taipei. They first play Kazakhstan in Almaty on September 13 before heading back home to face Iran at the Ota City Gymnasium.
