All you need to know about the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2019 GBA qualifiers
Manama (Bahrain) - The FIBA Champions Cup 2019 GBA Qualifiers will be held from 20-27 April, 2019 in Manama, Bahrain. The tournament will be a qualifying round for the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2019.
The FIBA Champions Cup 2019 GBA Qualifiers will host some of the best clubs from all over the Gulf region to determine which countries will acquire the 3 allocated spots for the GBA sub-zone in Round 1 of the Road To Final 8 - West Asia.
How This Works
If Shabab Al-Ahly Dubai (UAE), Ohod (KSA), and Al Ahly (Bahrain) finish at 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place at the FIBA Champions Cup 2019 GBA Qualifiers, the three allocated spots to Round 1 of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2019 would go to UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain. However, those three teams would not necessarily have to be Shabab Al-Ahly Dubai, Ohod, nor Al Ahly.
Instead, those qualifying spots for Round 1 of the Road To Final 8 - West Asia will be filled in by the 2018/2019 season's league champions of those respective countries .
Competition Format
The 8 participating teams are divided into two groups of 4 and will play in a round-robin format. The top 2 teams of each group will advance to the Semifinals. From there, the respective 4 teams will play in a single elimination bracket with a classification game for 3rd place to determine the top three teams.
