Day 3 HOT and NOT

CHENZHOU (FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2017) - Day 3 was once again filled to the brim with excitement, and it's time to see who turned some heads with both incredible and terrible play.

HOT

Carl Bryan Cruz (Chooks-To-Go Philippines)

The PBA stretch forward struggled with his outside shot on Day 2 against Sareyyet Ramallah, but he recovered with aplomb against Mono Vampire on Day 3. Cruz hit 8 three-pointers on his way to a team-high 28 points as Chooks-To-Go rebounded from their Day 2 loss with a 115-102 win.

Darius Adams (China Kashgar)

The hosts showed no mercy against the hapless ONGC squad from India, and Darius Adams was the spearhead of their relentless assault. Adams made 10 of his 14 field goals, including 4 triples, en route to 25 points, leading the Chinese to their third win in as many games.

Willie Warren (Petrochimi Iran)

Petrochimi bounced back in style against Sareyyet Ramallah, and Willie Warren led the way. The American reinforcement put up 25 points on the back of 10-of-15 field goal shooting - laced with 3 three-pointers - as the Iranians recovered from a shock defeat to BC Astana the previous day. Petrochimi will surely look to Warren again as they take on dangerous Mono Vampire today.

NOT

Sareyyet Ramallah Palestine

As sharp as they were against Chooks-To-Go on Day 2, Sareyyet Ramallah struggled big time against powerhouse Petrochimi on Day 3. The Palestinian side shot a paltry 4-of-20 form beyond the arc and just over 26% overall from the field. Only one player scored in double-figures, and they were outrebounded as well, 51-29. Suffice to say it was a very bad day for coach Guy Arnaud's crew.

ONGC India

Speaking of bad days, ONGC had another bad day in the competition, losing big once more to hosts China Kashgar, 92-47. The Indians shot only 25% from the field and showcased poor defense, allowing the Chinese to make 53% of their field goals and forcing only 7 turnovers.

Makan Kelanbaike (China Kashgar)

The 1.96m swingman from Xinjiang province was supposed to be one of China Kashgar's biggest weapons from the perimeter, but he struggled from the field, hitting just once out of four tries to end up with a measly 2 points. He also had 0 triples and 0 assists.
