Petrochimi clobber Sareyyet Ramallah to get on winning track
CHENZHOU (FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2017) - Petrochimi Iran broke into the win column at the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2017 after clobbering Sareyyet Ramallah Palestine, 108-45.
The Palestine club found themselves severely overmatched against a deep and focused Petrochimi squad that were raring to bounce back after a shocking opening game loss to BC Astana on Day 2.
The Iranians led by 5 at the end of the first quarter and never looked back, building a 25-point lead at the half and proceeding to continue pounding Sareyyet Ramallah's hapless defense.
25-year-old Meysam Mirzaei was a tower of power for Petrochimi, scoring 16 points and grabbing 9 rebounds while shooting 6-of-8 from the field. Foreign player Willie Warren also impressed with 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting, while Arsalan Kazemi was ultra efficient with 11 rebounds and 3 steals in only 15 minutes of action.
Todd O'Brien was the only Sareyyet player in double-digits with 15 points and 11 boards. Anthony Weeden and Jamal Abu Shamala were held to a combined output of only 11 points.
