Today's FIBA Asia Champions Cup Games: Sunday 9 October

CHENZHOU (FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2016) - Here are the four games to look forward to on Day 2 of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2016 in Chenzhou-Hunan, China.

ONGC v Petrochimi

The Indians will debut in the tournament against no less than Petrochimi Bandar Imam of Iran, one of the favorites to win the title. ONGC have no foreign players, too, so it’ll be a true test of their depth and character. Look for Vishesh Bhriguvanshi and Amritpal Singh to try and carry their club past Oshin Sahakian, Behnam Yakhchali and the rest of the Iranians.

Malaysia Dragons v Al Shorta

Al Shorta of Iraq will try to bounce back after absorbing a blowout loss to China Kashgar yesterday. The Iraqis take on ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) champions Malaysia Dragons today, and it should be an interesting affair. Malaysia are without many of the players responsible for lifting them to the peak of the ABL, while Al Shorta will rely on Justin Hawkins to once again lead the charge.

Pauian v Al Rayyan

This will be a battle between teams that lost on Day 1. Pauian will try to recover lost ground after dropping their assignment against Petrochimi, while Al Rayyan are hoping to notch their first win after losing to Al Riyadi last night. The match up to watch will be between Pauian’s star center Quincy Davis and Al Rayyan’s high scoring guard Preston Knowles.

China Kashgar v Al Ahli

After losing on Day 1, things don’t get any easier for Al Ahli as they take on home club China Kashgar today. The UAE side will have a lot to contend with in this encounter as China are loaded with Zhou Qi and Andray Blatche in the paint, and top tier players like Darius Adams, Li Gen and Wang Zirui at the perimeter. China look to get win #2 as they continue to target the top seed in Group B.
