Sunday’s Top 5 Players at the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2016

CHENZHOU (FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2016) - Day 2 provided a lot of action and excitement at the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2016 in Chenzhou-Hunan. Powerhouses Petrochimi and China Kashgar each won their second games, while Al Shorta and Pauian rebounded from their first day defeats. Of course, there were splendid individual performances, too!

FIBA.com presents the Top 5 performers from Sunday.

Andray Blatche
Blatche already had a solid first game, but he did even better in his second outing, scoring 17 points on 7-of-13 field goal shooting. He also collared 11 rebounds, handed out 7 assists and blocked one shot in an impressive display of two-way basketball efficiency.

Douglas Creighton
After scoring a paltry 2 points on Day 1, Creighton bounced back strong on Day 2, putting up 18 points on the strength of 4 triples. He shot 7-of-8 overall from the field on top of 9 boards, 4 assists and 2 steals. Needless to say, he was a big reason Pauian were able to upend Al Rayyan.

Quincy Davis
Davis recorded the first of what could be multiple double-double games in the tournament. The 2.03m center recorded 22 points on 8-of-10 field goal shooting while also grabbing 10 rebounds and having 1 shotblock. Davis continues to be the main cog in Pauian’s offensive machinery, and the team will go only as far as he can take them.

DeAndre Rice
Al Shorta served notice that they should not be overlooked after they thrashed the Malaysia Dragons, and the play of DeAndre Rice was a huge reason for their win. The 1.85m guard unloaded 36 points on the back of 7 three-pointers in a scintillating shooting display. He also had 6 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist and 1 block for good measure.

Justin Hawkins
Justin Hawkins formed a two-headed monster with Rice for the Al Shorta. Whereas Rice unleashed a perimeter barrage, Hawkins took care of the play in the paint. The 2.03m big man had a monster line of 33 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals and 1 assist. He was a completely dominant force for the Iraqis, and he’s definitely one guy to watch out for in the days to come.
