Monday’s Top 5 Players at the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2016

CHENZHOU (FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2016) - Action at the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2016 in Chenzhou-Hunan remained at a very high level through Day 3. Al Rayyan broke through and finally notched a win, while Al Ahli got back on the winning track after defeating Malaysia. Powerhouse teams Al Riyadi and China Kashgar also continued their unbeaten runs.

FIBA.com presents the Top 5 performers from Sunday.

Quincy Davis
Pauian’s prized big man remained their steadiest performer. Once again, Davis showed his quality with 21 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block, and although they lost the game against Al Riyadi, Davis continued to prove that he is one of the top players throughout the entire tournament.

Preston Knowles
Knowles nailed a day-high 39 points, and this was a huge reason why Al Rayyan were able get a blowout win over ONGC. Knowles has shown a lot of durability, too, playing an average of 38.7 minutes per game. Against the Indians, Knowles also added 14 boards, 5 assists and 2 steals.

Dewarwick Spencer
Spencer led the way for Al Riyadi in their rout of Pauian. The 1.91m wingman hit 5 three-pointes in the win, scoring a total of 31 points on 12-of-17 field goal shooting. He also grabbed 4 rebounds, had 3 assists, and got 2 steals. If he continues to play at this level, Riyadi should go quite far.

Skylar Spencer
Yes, the Malaysia Dragons lost their second game in a row, but seeing Skylar Spencer play so well should give them a bit of a bright spot. The 2.06m center missed just 3 of his 11 field goal attempts for a 16-point total. More importantly, however, he also made his presence felt on defense, where Spencer had 2 blocks and collared 21 rebounds.

Samuel Young
At 2.05m, Young should not be among the fastest guys on any roster, but he is just that kind of player. Young is big enough to be a legitimate center in this tournament, but he has also shown a high level of skill especially along the perimeter. Against the Dragons, Young scored 32 points, hit 4 triples, had 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
