The top performers of 2025 AmeriCup Qualifiers Matchday 1

MIAMI (United States) – Bruno Fitipaldo of Uruguay was the most outstanding player of the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup Qualifiers Matchday 1. During the games played on February 22-23, the point guard had an efficiency rating of 38, by far the best in the competition.

 

The Lenovo Tenerife (Spain) player was Uruguay’s sparkplug in their 99-78 victory over Panama in Group B after scoring 22 points (on an impressive 8/10 from the field and 5/5 from beyond the arc). He also dished 8 assists, pulled down 6 rebounds and notched 4 steals to complete a dominant performance on both ends of the floor.

Venezuelan wing Michael Carrera has the second-best efficiency rating (25), matching Manuel Suárez of Chile. Carrera led Venezuela’s 79-60 win over Colombia in Group A with 19 points, 6 rebounds, a steal and a block. The Movistar Estudiantes (Spain) forward shot 4/6 from long distance – the first time he made as many three-pointers with his national team.

Meanwhile, Suárez, couldn’t prevent Chile’s loss to Argentina (90-78) in Group A, but he did contribute a massive 25-point, 12-rebound double-double. The 6’10 big man, currently playing for BC Kalev/Cramo in Estonia, shot 53 percent from the field and added a pair of assists.

Brazilian Bruno Caboclo, returned to lead his country after a great stint with Partizan in Serbia and was crucial in their 108-43 win over Paraguay in Group B. He had a 24 efficiency after scoring 12 points in 19 minutes, going a perfect 4/4 from the field and 4/4 from the free throw line. He added 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.

 

 

 

Jayson Granger of Uruguay rounded out the all-tournament team of AmeriCup Qualifiers Matchday 1. The 34-year-old point guard also went off against Panama, finishing with 22 points (4/7 from downtown), 6 assists and a steal for a 24 efficiency rating.
