Argentina will have star players, young guns for FIBA AmeriCup 2025 Qualifiers
MIAMI (United States) – The Argentine Basketball Confederation (CAB) announced their 12 players and coaching staff that will participate in the first window of the FIBA AmeriCup 2025 Qualifiers, which will be played between February 22-26.
The Argentine team will have a squad full of talent with Facundo Campazzo, Gabriel Deck, Marcos Delía, Nicolás Brussino and Lucio Redivo. There will be young players joining them who have already had an impact on the team such as Leandro Bolmaro and Juan Fernández, as well as other prospects such as Juan Ignacio Marcos, Gonzalo Bressán, Gonzalo Corbalán. Juan Bocca and Lucas Giovannetti, who were members of the Argentine U-19 team that finished in fifth place in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, are also part of the team.

Herman Mandole will be at the helm since Pablo Prigioni will not be able to accompany the team due to his commitments with the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA. However, Prigioni will remain in contact with Mandole and the rest of the technical staff.
Mandole was already an assistant in the Argentine national team during Sergio Hernández and Néstor García’s tenures. In addition, he coached the U18 team and served as coordinator of CAB training teams. He was also an assistant to Julio Lamas in the senior team that participated in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
“I think Herman is the one who can best continue the preparation we started a few months ago. He has all the necessary knowledge to be able to execute it in the best way,” Prigioni said in a CAB press release.
Nicolás Casalanguida and Mauro Polla will serve as assistants. Casalanguida, with experience in the Argentine National League and other international leagues, returns to the national team after several years leading senior and youth Argentine teams. Polla was the coach of the national U-19 team that finished in fifth place at the FIBA World Cup 2023. Guido Fabbris completes the group of assistants, as announced by CAB.
Argentina, in the first window of the FIBA AmeriCup 2025 Qualifiers, will host Chile on the 22nd, at the Islas Malvinas Sports Center in Mar del Plata. Then they will face them again in Valdivia, Chile on the 25th.
