ASCUT book ticket for FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2017

ANTANANARIVO(FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2017) – Malagasy side ASCUT won their fifth FIBA Africa Champions Zone 7 Cup on Sunday after beating rivals Gendarmerie Nationale Basketball 63-61.

As result the Islanders earn the rights to play at the FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2017 which will take place later in December in the Tunisian city of Rades.

Valeri Olivier Boutou who sparked the fifth-time FIBA Africa Zone 7 champions was named MVP of the tournament.

ASCUT got on their winning ways with a strong start, heading the game 17-9. But the Policemen gave them a good run for their money, coming back 28-29 (19-12) before Half-Time.

ASCUT bounced back, and things went wrong for rival Policemen, who dropped back four points behind at the end of the third quarter (47-43).

The last quarter was more balanced with a boxscore of 18-16 for Gendarmerie Nationale Basketball, but ASCUT has already made the break (63-61).
