Who will punch the Semi-Final tickets in the U18 Women's African Championship?

ANTSIRABE (Madagascar) The knockout stages of the FIBA U18 African Women's Championship resume on Wednesday at the Gymnasae Couvert D'Antsirabe with everyone wondering which teams will punch the Semi-Final tickets.

All four games will be streamed live on FIBA' YOUTUBE CHANEL.

Here is a look at the fixtures and how the teams match up in the Quarter-Finals:

Egypt vs Algeria 12.30 am (East African Time)

In this North African derby, the Egyptians are favourites to book their spot in the last four. In terms of talent and depth the Egyptians trump the Algerians.

Egypt will depend on star player and forward Jana Elalfy and Jana Sallman to provide them with scoring and rebounding.

They have guards who can penetrate in the paint and are also good shooters.

Meanwhile the Algerians, will rely on their top player Doua Yahiaoui, but for her to be at her best, the rest of the team will have to step up against the polished Egyptians.

Tanzania vs Madagascar (3pm East African Time)

The Tanzanians are no slouches and have given their best during the group stages. They do not rely on individual players, but rather on the collective. The East Africans  will have a hostile crowd and cohesive Malagasy team to compete against at the venue.

Madagascar know they cannot afford any slip ups in this do-or-die battle. They will have learnt from their defeat in the Group Phase against Uganda not to take their opposition for granted.

This encounter will be hard-fought, with a talent like Marion Rasolofoson and players who can step up, the island nation will snatch the victory.

Uganda vs Angola  (5.30pm East African Time)

The Ugandan team will give their all against Angola, with players like Sarah Namale, Diana Letaru and Sherifa Nalwadda the East Africans will make things interesting in this quarter final fixture. They may not be as talented as Angola, but the Ugandans will try to bring their A-game.

Angola on the other hand, if they get into their stride early in the game, it is going to be hard seeing Uganda cause an upset. The Southern Africans will rely on point guard Arminda Sindalawa to get them going.  Sindalawa is also quick and can be a craft finisher at the rim.

Guinea vs Mali (8pm East African Time)

Guinea will need a miracle to overcome West African neighbour Mali. While they have talented players like forward Nafisatou Diack and guard Nana Soumah, who both can get buckets for Guinea, but as team they do not have enough overcome Mali.

Maimouna Haidara and her Malian teammates will not take their opposition lightly, despite Guinea being limited in terms of talent. Mali are likely to run rampant against Guinea team that have lacked inspiration all-tournament.
