    FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup 2018 brand identity captures Belarus' vibrant natural beauty

    MINSK (FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup 2018) - The logo of the FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup 2018 was revealed on Saturday during halftime of the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 Qualifiers clash between Belarus and Turkey at Minsk's Palace of Sport.

    The logo captures the vibrant natural beauty that is at the very heart of Belarus' rich cultural heritage. This is characterized by an abundance of rivers, lakes and forests. The tournament's brand identity also displays distinctive symbols and motifs that are iconic in Belarusian folk art, including cornflowers, the national flower of Belarus.

    On hand for this special unveiling were: Maksim Ryzhenkov, President of the Belarusian Basketball Federation and First Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration; Ihar Yurkevich, Deputy Chairman of Minsk City's Executive Committee; Tatsiana Beloshapko, Olympic gold medalist (1980) and representative of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and Ministry of Education.

    The next milestone event in the lead-up to the competition - taking place from July 21-29 - will be the draw ceremony set for Tuesday, March 6.
