SAO PAULO (2016 FIBA U17 Women's World Championship) - Brazil have picked the players who will try to carry their country to a first-ever top eight finish at the FIBA U17 Women's World Championship.

There are nine returnees from the side that reached the Final of the 2015 FIBA Americas U16 Women's Championship and Brazil can head to Zaragoza expecting to make a strong impression.

Brazil 12-player roster for 2016 FIBA U17 Women's World Championship
Brenda Barros Clarissa Carneiro Obalunanma Chukwumaeze Raphaella Da Silva
Emanuely De Oliveira Geassamyne Germano, Geovana Lopes Izabela Nicoletti
Licinara Rodrigues Sara Lucia Rodrigues Julia Schmauch Isadora Sousa

Not least because they have one of the most capable scorers in youth basketball in the form of Izabela Nicoletti, who has senior team experience from a major tournament after playing in Edmonton at the FIBA Americas Women's Championship last year.

Geovana Lopes has a nice touch under the hoop and is a good rebounder alongside the powerful Obalunanma Chukwumaeze, who will be hard to stop if her efforts in the paint in Puebla are anything to go by.

Brazil will play in Group D against Mali, Portugal and host nation Spain.
