How to Qualify

Sixteen teams will play in the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2022. Teams qualify for the U17 Basketball World Cup via regional U16 championships determined by their results, in addition to the host nation.

  • Semi-Finalists of the FIBA U16 Americas Championship 2021 (4)
  • Semi-Finalists of the FIBA U16 Asian Championship 2022 (4)
  • Semi-finalists and the fifth-placed team of the FIBA U16 European Challengers 2021 (5)
  • Host nation of the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2022 (1)
