USA's Jalen Green wins U17 World Cup MVP, tops All-Star Five
SANTA FE (FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2018) - Jalen Green of champs USA was named the Tissot MVP of the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2018 and topped the All-Star Five.
SANTA FE (FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2018) - Jalen Green not only guided the USA to their fifth straight FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup title but he was also named the competition's Tissot MVP and topped the All-Star Five.
Green led the United States in scoring with 15.7 points per game while also averaging 2.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals. He collected 11 points and 2 rebounds in the USA's 95-52 victory over France in the Final. Green's top showings came in the Quarter-Finals where he scored 27 points; and Semi-Finals where he poured in 25 points.

Joining Green in the All-Star Five were his USA teammate Vernon Carey Jr, Killian Hayes from second-placed finishers France, Andre Curbelo from third-placed Puerto Rico and Mali center Oumar Ballo
Carey averaged 11.0 points and 6.9 rebounds for the tournament including 9 points and 9 rebounds in the Final. Hayes collected 16.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.7 steals and 1.4 blocks, including 10 points, 3 steals, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals against USA in the Final.
Curbelo guided Puerto Rico to their first-ever U17 World Cup podium finish by picking up 13.6 points, a tournament-high 5.9 assists, 5.6 rebounds and 2.9 steals. Ballo averaged a tournament high 16.9 rebounds as well as 20.6 points, which was the second-best in the event. Ballo, who won't turn 16 years until July 13, also shattered the U17 World Cup rebound record with 32 boards against Dominican Republic while also pouring in 32 points in a triple-overtime loss.
