Spain trim squad to 13 players a week out
MADRID (2016 FIBA U17 World Championship) - 2016 FIBA U17 World Championship host team Spain have trimmed their squad for the 16-team event to 13 players with a week left before the action gets underway in Zaragoza.
Head coach Alejandro Martinez cut two players from his original 15-man preliminary squad with one more to come ahead of the 23 June tip-off of the U17 Worlds.
In total, eight players from the 2015 FIBA U16 European Championship are still in the running to play in front of the home fans in Zaragoza.

Back from last summer are Raimon Carrasco, Osas Ehigiator, Miguel Gonzalez, Sergi Martinez, Acoydan McCarthy, Unai Mendikote, Ignacio Rosa and Francisco Salvador.
From his 15-man squad, Martinez cut Alejandro Galan, who was on the U16 team as well, and Pol Molins.
After his team split two games against Bosnia and Herzegovina in their first action in the preparations, Martinez still has three more games scheduled for his team before the U17 Worlds tip off. Spain will face Dominican Republic on Saturday, Turkey on Sunday and United States on Tuesday - all three games in Zaragoza.
Spain will then square off against Argentina, Lithuania and Mali in Group B of the 2016 FIBA U17 World Championship.
